Donna Carol Koffman is a Canadian author and poet.  She has a degree in Psychology and is a Certified Life Skills Coach and Reiki Therapist.  She was inspired to write Different Kinds of Special  by her grandson Reese who has autism and is for the most part non-verbal.  Although she touches on various differences in the book, her focus is on communication and social disorders.  She is in the process of a sequal to this book  which  looks at the point of view of typical siblings of special needs children.

Donna was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and currently resides in Toronto.
